Banana Nutella Folded Wrap (Printer-friendly)

Warm Nutella, ripe bananas, and crispy folded tortillas combine for a sweet, easy snack.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 2 large flour tortillas
02 - 4 tbsp Nutella or other chocolate-hazelnut spread
03 - 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced
04 - 2 tbsp chopped hazelnuts (optional)
05 - 1 tbsp unsalted butter for frying

→ Garnish (optional)

06 - Powdered sugar for dusting
07 - Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

# Steps:

01 - Lay one tortilla flat on a cutting board. Make a single cut from the center straight to the edge, dividing it visually into four quarters.
02 - Spread 2 tablespoons of Nutella on quarter one, arrange half the banana slices on quarter two, sprinkle 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts on quarter three, and leave quarter four plain or add a little Nutella.
03 - Starting from the cut edge, fold the Nutella quarter over the bananas, then over the hazelnuts, then over the last quarter to form a compact triangle.
04 - Repeat the folding process with the second tortilla using the remaining ingredients.
05 - Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry each folded wrap 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
06 - Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Everything comes together in ten minutes flat using ingredients you probably already have in the pantry
  • The contrast between the shattering crisp tortilla and creamy warm filling hits every single texture craving
  • Easy to scale up for a crowd or make just one for yourself when nobody is watching
02 -
  • Old dried out tortillas will crack when you try to fold them so check the date and give them a quick microwave if they seem stiff
  • Do not overfill each section or the filling will ooze out while frying and make a mess of your pan
  • Medium heat is perfect because high heat burns the tortilla before the Nutella inside gets warm and melty
03 -
  • Keep the folded wraps warm in a 200 degree oven while you finish cooking the rest so everyone eats together
  • If your bananas are under ripe you can sprinkle a tiny bit of brown sugar over them before folding to add sweetness
  • A silicone brush makes it easy to spread melted butter over the tortilla right before serving for extra shine and flavor
